  • Eurythmy

Eurythmy is a movement art which due to its basis has profound pedagogical and therapeutic significance. It began and developed as an answer to the following question: "Can certain rhythmical movements of the body of life forces have a healing, strengthening and regulating affect upon the physical body?" If all the sounds of speech were to be made visible at once, as a kind of mobile sculpture, we would see before us this body of life forces. It is constantly performing these movements. In eurythmy we perform them consciously with our limbs, according to the rhythms of poetry and music. These speech sounds made visible have distinct health giving, strengthening and regulating affects. I focus on the sounds which assist the participants in my class to attain to balanced integration of body and mind.

  • Spacial Dynamics

Since we have a physical body, we have a specific relationship (orientation) to the space around us. Above, below, right, left, front and back space all have different qualities and we experience each one differently. Through movement exercises, games and activities we will explore and enhance our experience of personal space, shared space, extended space, inner space and peripheral space. Students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The class content will be tailored to the specific needs and interests of the group.
